Back from Fryeburg!

Hey, all!
Back from a 10 day exhibit at the Fryeburg Fair and I am getting my steam back! Long time to be away from home and field! Got a couple of nice misty shots of sheep and covered bridges, which had been a request from several customers. Heading to York, Maine for a show this weekend, then heading North again in search of some new moose photos. Has been a good year all around for new and improved photos!
Keep visiting and I will keep you posted! Until then, good luck behind your cameras!!

The Moose ARE Loose!!!

Hey, All!!
The moose are loose in Northern Maine!!! The big bulls are looking for love, with the cows acting coy and not quite ready to make a committment!! I had the good fortune of taking numerous photos of a big bull and his conquest for a half hour at Baxter Park yesterday, and called a big bull out on to a misty bog on the Golden Road to capture some beautiful images. The foliage is about 50% full and things are h
appening!
I will be exhibiting at the Fryeburg Fair in Fryeburg, Maine from this Sunday until next Sunday. Please visit me at my booth in the Craft Building and I will show you what I have seen! The Fair is one of the best around and lots there to see and photograph. Until I get back in the woods, best of "shooting" to all!

Back from the Woods

Hey All!
Back from the North Maine Woods today! Traveled over 450 miles with truck, paddled 6 miles of deadwater and bogs, saw total of 7 moose. Not a good number. Lots of moose sign, tracks, rubs, scrapes etc. but the balmy 80 degree weather put the skids to any mating activity that was going on. Leaves are at about 60% brightness, so that was a plus. Captured 2 shots of a large bull just in front of the gate to the camp I was staying at!
Jason Bouchard took me up flying for half an hour and we saw lots of moose, but they were far from the roads and not moving around. if I had a heavy winter coat on and it was 80, I would lay low, also!
Getting ready for the Commonground Fair in Unity, Maine this weekend. Hope to see you there!!

Dell to the Rescue!

Hey Everyone!
New Dell arrived last nite so I am once again connected! Hope to keep a more timely journal of my photographic adventures this Fall to share with you and yours. Cold nights should bring the big bulls out to "court" the fair lady cow moose, and i want to be there when it happens! Have lots of good leads, so we shall see what the outcome will be. One things for sure, I will have LOTS of fun and adventure no matter what! Talk later!!!

Happy Labor Day!!
Using my friend David's computer to write this- my new Dell due in tomorrow! Went to Baxter State Park this Thurs. in search of a big bull moose. Still too early for the rut to begin, so the big bulls were still deep in the woods, probably shedding velvet and readying themselves for the next couple months. DID see 7 moose total that day, with one walking up to within 10 feet of my brother, which I captured on video camera. A most incredible adventure no matter how many moose you have seen before!
Am exhibiting my work in front of the new L.L. Bean's sporting store building this Saturday and would like to see you all there! Also have ordered a new Sony A100 digital SLR that is due to arrive this week... will keep you posted as to the moose situation and camera performance! Happy Filming!
